Los Angeles, it seems, can’t get enough of Helmut Newton. Yesterday we wrote about Sex and Landscapes, the upcoming Newton retrosprective at Perry Rubenstein. Today, Refinery 29 posted a sneak peek of Three Boys from Pasadena: A Tribute to Helmut Newton. The show opens at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA on June 14 and features photographers Mark Arbeit, George Holz, and Just Loomis, all of whom were former students and lifelong friends of Newton’s. Their work, clearly influenced by their mentor, offers unique insight into Newton’s life, and perhaps more interesting: the show includes written feedback, notes, and journal entries made by Newton regarding their work.
