Phil Solomon is the definition of mixed media. His work combines the unpredictable aesthetic of chemically altered classic film imagery ranging from Buster Keaton to Citizen Kane with the control of computer editing and rendering. The result of which has made Solomon a celebrated film artist with a career spanning over 40 years. Young Projects Gallery will present his latest film American Falls, a film inspired by a 1999 visit to D.C. monuments and the majesty of Niagara Falls as depicted in Frederick Church’s Niagara. The new film will debut alongside highlights from the artist’s most recognized installations.
