Claxton’s unique and sensual images of Chet Baker from 1952 to 1957, have become icons in the world of jazz photography. He was most noted for his photography of jazz musicians. Claxton also photographed celebrities and models. He married model Peggy Moffitt in 1960 and had one son, Christopher M. Claxton, who was born in 1973. Claxton died on October 11, 2008.
